About the Role
We are partnered with a well established architectural millwork firm in the Vancouver area to find an experienced Architectural Millwork Project Manager to lead the delivery of custom millwork projects from award through fabrication, installation, and close out. This opportunity is not remote and will require relocation to the Vancouver area.
This role is ideal for a hands on project manager who understands how architectural intent translates into shop drawings, fabrication, and successful installation on site. You will play a key role in coordinating architects, designers, consultants, and internal shop teams to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
This is a stable, long term opportunity for someone who enjoys owning projects end to end and working closely with both the shop and the field.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage multiple architectural millwork projects from contract award through installation and close out
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and contracts to confirm scope, constructability, and coordination requirements
• Lead the shop drawing process, including reviews, revisions, approvals, and client sign off
• Coordinate material selections, finishes, samples, and hardware approvals
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with fabrication and installation timelines
• Act as the primary point of contact for architects, interior designers, general contractors, and consultants
• Coordinate internal drafting, procurement, fabrication, finishing, and installation teams
• Conduct site visits, site measurements, and field coordination as required
• Manage project budgets, change orders, progress billings, and cost tracking
• Proactively identify and resolve design, fabrication, or site related issues before they impact schedule or cost
• Maintain clear project documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare close out documentation and manage deficiencies through completion
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years experience managing architectural millwork or custom woodwork projects
• Strong understanding of millwork fabrication processes, materials, finishes, and hardware
• Proven experience coordinating shop drawings and submittals
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
• Experience delivering commercial, workplace, hospitality, retail, or high end residential projects
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast paced shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Trade background in cabinetmaking, joinery, or architectural woodworking
• Familiarity with AWMAC standards and quality grades
• Experience coordinating millwork installation and site activities
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar project management tools
