We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-growing organization within the clean energy sector. As an Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Owner’s Team and external contractors to ensure technical precision and alignment with project objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include managing technical aspects of the project, guiding engineering contractors, supervising design development, monitoring progress, reviewing technical documentation, and coordinating with third-party suppliers.
- This role will be initially a hybrid role with eventual transition to a more on site position in the London, ON area.
The Role-

Lead all technical activities related to design, engineering, procurement support, supplier quality, commissioning, and start-up planning.

Review and assess technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and calculations submitted by the Engineering Contractor, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, industry best practices, and project requirements.

Support the procurement and supplier selection process for mechanical equipment packages such as pumps, cooling towers, compressors, and other critical systems.

Lead the technical evaluation of supplier proposals, ensuring the selection of cost-effective and technically compliant solutions.

Provide technical support during equipment installation and commissioning phases to ensure successful implementation.

Identify and resolve any deviations or non-conformances from project specifications and design criteria.

Ensure that assigned equipment packages are delivered in accordance with project schedules and budgets, managing changes through established management of change (MOC) procedures.

Proactively identify risks that may impact cost, schedule, quality, or safety, and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure these plans are reviewed with stakeholders and executed effectively.

Conduct supplier site visits during fabrication to monitor manufacturing progress and verify quality standards are met.
The Ideal Candidate-

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record on large-scale industrial projects

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO); PMP certification is considered an asset

Experience with various types of furnaces and/or dry powder processing is a strong asset

In-depth knowledge of applicable Canadian mechanical codes, standards, and regulations

Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
