Key Responsibilities as the Site Superintendent:

  • Knowledge and understanding of all contract drawings, specifications, addenda, RFI's, and, all other job related contracts and information for each project.
  • Job site setup and start-up, including safety posting and procedures, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment and manpower.
  • Oversee day to day project activities to ensure project deliverables are being met including allocation of labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Create productive working relationships with subcontractors and create an environment where quality is paramount, and problems are solved quickly.
  • Coordinate with Subcontracts to meet critical path timelines.
  • Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the applicable OHS and legislative requirements are met.
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control.
  • Prepare daily site reports and send to Project Manager.
  • Report and discuss any relevant work issues/discrepancies.
  • Prepare and communicate RFIs with Project Manager, architects, engineers etc.
  • Communicate with clients, architects, engineers in clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Other duties as required

 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Site Superintendent role in Residential/Commercial Construction Industry.
  • Red Seal carpenter or equivalent years of experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and residential construction industry and practices.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate team members.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and training skills.
  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead various sized project teams.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment.
