About the role:
Our private client in the building material industry is seeking an General Accountant to join their team. This role will be reporting into the Accounting Manager and be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger

  • Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close

  • Prepare financial statements and reporting schedules

  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor AP/AR activity

  • Assist with budgeting, audits, and financial analysis

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP

  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software

  • Strong analytical and communication skills


About you:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Completion of Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Experience with MS Excel is a strong Asset
  • Must have experience working with accounting software
  • Must be able to work in the office
