As a Project Manager / Contract Administrator, you will oversee the design and delivery of major retail developments from permit through to construction completion. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project success. A strong understanding of contract administration and documentation is critical to this role.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience managing large-scale retail or commercial architectural projects
- In-depth knowledge of provincial building codes across Canada
- Strong contract administration background, including the ability to produce payment certificates, supplemental instructions, change orders, and site review documentation
- Experience with construction phase coordination and liaising with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead internal teams and consultants
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and Revit
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple concurrent retail/commercial projects from permits to occupancy
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout project phases
- Prepare and issue bid packages, addenda, and construction documentation
- Manage construction administration including shop drawing reviews and site review reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and occupancy requirements
- Mentor junior staff and support team growth
