Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Lead
Location: Ottawa, ON
Salary: 120k+ (Based on Experience)

An established consulting engineering firm in Ottawa is looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Lead to their growing team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where you can have a meaningful impact on both projects and the future direction of the firm.

This is a small, tight-knit team, which means the role is well suited for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats—someone who is comfortable taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the growth of the business.

The firm works on a range of commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects, and offers the chance to be involved from concept through to completion. Beyond technical leadership, this role also provides the opportunity to buy into the firm through share ownership, giving you a voice in strategic decisions and long-term direction.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of projects from concept through construction

• Prepare and review electrical system designs, specifications, and technical documentation

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate team members

• Oversee project coordination with internal teams, architects, and other consultants

• Participate in client meetings and help maintain strong client relationships

• Support proposal development and contribute to business development initiatives

• Take ownership of project timelines, budgets, and overall delivery

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) in Ontario

• 8+ years of experience in consulting engineering, ideally within building systems

• Experience working on commercial, institutional, or mixed-use developments

• Strong technical design skills and familiarity with relevant codes and standards

• Ability to lead projects while also being hands-on with design and coordination

• Interest in mentorship, team leadership, and contributing to business growth
