Salary: $150,000 -160,000, + benefits and pension

Company Overview
Our large private Family Office client is seeking a professional, experienced Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance to manage a large number of investment holding companies. You will work within a team of accounting professionals and mentor a team of 3.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare or review journal entries for assigned entities (corporations, partnerships or trusts).
- Prepare or review supporting documents (memo, calculations or other explanatory details) for the journal entries
- Review monthly reconciliations, including bank and inter-company reconciliations
- Review brokerage accounting report
- Review or reconcile sub-ledgers and/or continuities (i.e. investments, fixed asset) that support the general ledger
- Review working papers for HST filing purposes
- Assist in preparing response package to CRA re. HST audits
- Address questions or concerns raised by the Tax Department regarding year-end working papers and financial statements
- Assist in preparing or reviewing corporate solvency tests
- Ensure appropriate controls, documentation, and governance without adding unnecessary bureaucracy
Qualifications:
- CPA designation with minimum 10 years experience and 3 in a supervisory/management role
- Tech and system savvy with Advanced Excel
- Must have expertise with general ledger accounting
- Knowledge of HST reporting and share capital transactions is an asset
- Experience using JD Edwards, Insight / Hubble, Caseware and Write-Up is preferred
