THE COMPANY
This well established Architecture firm are busy and with lots of projects in the pipeline for 2026, they are in need of a talented, creative Architecture designer to join their team to focus on front end tasks across conceptual and schematic design phases for some large scale projects - predominantly across high-rise, hospitality, mixed-use and mid rise projects.
THE ROLE
Position Overview: Our client is hiring for a talented advanced intermediate or senior designer, who is experience creating designs on a large scale - and has a portfolio to showcase that from projects across Canada. Join a passionate team and unleash your creativity as you develop detailed designs from concept phase and see them through to completion, working with clients to bring their ideas into form.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Design & Documentation:
- Lead the charge in developing detailed, innovative design solutions.
- Conceptualize in three dimensions and produce a plan that works
- Produce partis/concepts that recognize the essentials of brand and also incorporate design considerations such as local relevance
- Innovative Design Activities:
- Dive into programming, code research, and material selection to build inspiring spaces.
- Skillfully layout program components and master area calculations for unique projects.
- Communicate the design concept and plan skillfully to clients and stakeholders
- Dynamic Site Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough site assessments and surveys, ensuring designs are perfectly aligned with their environment.
- Comprehensive Project Coordination & Review:
- Review and perfect project deliverables, from products to services and shop drawings.
- Orchestrate permit processes and coordinate with engineers and consultants for seamless revisions.
- Engage with contractors, sub-consultants, and building authorities to tackle construction challenges and document outcomes.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
- Minimum 7+ years of industry experience, with at least 6+ years focused more on front end and conceptual architectural design
- At least 3 years of experience working with Canadian building codes and bylaws with design
- Experience working on a variety of projects including large scale projects, preferably high rise, mid rise, mixed-use and hospitality projects from within Canada
- Proficient in navigating and applying building codes.
- An educational background in architecture or related post-secondary education.
- Professional registration with an architectural association is an asset
- Possess a strong portfolio of work showcasing some large scale projects completed here in Canada
