Position Overview

Our client is seeking a high-impact Branch Manager to lead and grow a key location in the Northern Virginia market. This is a leadership role built around growth, accountability, and operational excellence.

We are looking for a decisive, sales-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced building materials environment and understands how to drive revenue while building a strong, accountable team culture. The ideal candidate leads from the front, is comfortable in the field with customers, and can manage the operational engine behind a successful branch.

This role combines sales leadership, branch operations, people development, and market expansion. The right individual will treat the branch as their own business and drive both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $80,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Drive profitable branch sales by leading from the front
  • Develop and execute a local sales strategy to increase market share
  • Identify and secure new business while strengthening contractor relationships
  • Partner with inside and outside sales teams to build and execute account plans
  • Monitor pricing strategies, competitive positioning, and margin performance

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and motivate Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Warehouse, and Delivery teams
  • Establish clear performance metrics and accountability standards
  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing employees
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations
  • Foster a culture built on urgency, ownership, and exceptional customer service

Operations & Branch Management

  • Oversee all daily branch operations including sales, warehouse, delivery, and inventory
  • Ensure warehouse efficiency, safety compliance, and workflow optimization
  • Manage inventory levels, purchasing controls, and shrinkage
  • Maintain high standards for order accuracy and on-time delivery
  • Enforce company policies and operational procedures

Market & Industry Presence

  • Stay current on industry trends, new product lines, pricing structures, and competitors
  • Represent our client at industry events and supplier meetings
  • Build long-term supplier and customer partnerships
  • Strengthen our client’s presence in the local contractor community

Qualifications

  • Proven background in B2B sales and sales management
  • Experience in Building Materials or Building Products distribution
  • Strong experience working directly with contractors
  • Previous leadership experience managing multi-functional teams
  • Demonstrated record of growing revenue and improving profitability
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong work ethic
