Job Summary
Our Client, an established Canadian manufacturer in the industrial sector is seeking a Maintenance Manager who would be responsible for leading the site’s maintenance operations, overseeing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with GMP/AIB, Health & Safety, and company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining plant reliability, safety, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Oversight
Manage all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance, including HVAC, compressors, boilers, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.
Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality completion of all maintenance work.
Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team to enhance performance, safety, and technical skills.
Planning & Execution
Implement and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Ensure all scheduled work orders are completed efficiently and within allocated timeframes.
Conduct regular inspections of maintained equipment to ensure reliability and adherence to quality standards.
Approve and prioritize maintenance work with the Planner/Scheduler, providing technical input for job plans.
Cost & Project Management
Oversee maintenance budgets, expenditures, and capital project timelines, ensuring alignment with cost, scope, and performance goals.
Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and cost control.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure full compliance with AIB, IFS, GMP, and company safety policies.
Lead corrective actions promptly to maintain high standards of food safety and workplace safety.
Support and actively participate in Health, Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental programs.
Continuous Improvement
Develop and implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to streamline maintenance operations.
Establish a Predictive Maintenance Program to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Design and manage a storeroom strategy for spare parts as part of the CMMS.
Utilize KPIs and benchmarking to monitor and improve maintenance performance.
Recommend and implement operational improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve production efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Licensed Millwright preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience implementing CMMS and predictive maintenance systems.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while meeting quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
