TalentSphere is proud to partner with a leading engineering firm as they continue to grow and are hiring for a talented Mechanical Designer (Buildings Engineering), specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. This firm are well established and have great portfolio of work covering a range of sectors. They are known for their collaborative team environment and strong project delivery.

THE ROLE
As an intermediate to senior Mechanical Designer, you will be involved in the design and development of mechanical systems for a variety of commercial, residential, public, and institutional building projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, and proficiency in Revit as well as other software programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with senior engineers, create mechanical designs g for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Prepare and review detailed designs, drawings, and specifications using Revit and other design tools.
• Perform site visits to assess project requirements, verify installations, and ensure quality control.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and project teams
• Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selection to meet project requirements and code compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
• Work with the design on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design for the building industry.
• Strong understanding of Canadian building codes, standards, with at least 2+ years working with them
• Experience with public, community or institutional projects preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
