Our client is a well-established food manufacturing company serving customers across North America. They are seeking a Production Supervisor to join their operations team and oversee daily production activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading production operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and food safety standards. This position plays a key role in production planning, employee supervision, inventory coordination, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and coordinate daily production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, and operational priorities.
• Supervise production employees to ensure products are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety requirements, allergen controls, and quality standards.
• Verify that employees follow established production procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support quality control, sanitation, preventive maintenance, and operational compliance programs.
• Coordinate with inventory, shipping, receiving, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely order fulfillment.
• Enforce standard operating procedures and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure production records and documentation are completed accurately and maintained appropriately.
• Train, coach, and develop production employees to support performance, quality, and operational excellence.
• Assist with inventory control and general housekeeping activities within production and warehouse areas.
• Provide operational support across departments as required.
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience within food manufacturing, food processing, or a related production environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee coaching skills.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience coordinating production schedules and managing workflow priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Forklift certification is considered an asset.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
• High school diploma required. Post-secondary education in food science, manufacturing, operations, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, ingredients, and food production processes.
• Must follow all GMP and PPE requirements.
