Summary:

Immediate Full-time opening for an intermediate Project Manager to provide leadership and management of commercial, and residential design build construction projects in the Kootenay Region.

Key Responsibilities as the Project Manager:

• Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on every project
• Apply requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program to promote overall compliance with HSE standards, and applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
• Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining quality standards
• Develop and maintain construction schedules in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates; provide clear direction to team members to ensure project targets are achieved
• Facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support ongoing project progression
• Work with project teams to identify and manage opportunities and risks, aiming to achieve best possible impact on schedule and financial targets
• Maintain, track, and report financial aspects of projects including forecasts and billings
• Manage procurement process including subcontractor supplier negotiations and awards
• Manage the submittal process and facilitate timely approval of submittals and materials to ensure on time delivery to site
• Manage, mentor, and provide leadership to Project Managers and Coordinators

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years work experience as a Project Manager /Project Coordinator / Construction
• Engineer Graduate Engineer with professional registration or with a Degree in Construction
• Management Project Management Professional (PMP) and LEED designation preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and superior technical skills required
• Experience in the commercial and Residential design and construction of buildings required
• Previous Site-based experience preferred
• Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong desire to succeed
• Knowledge of project and scheduling software required
