Sales Representative – HVAC Controls

This is a position that comes with a salary, and additional compensation, targeting the $130,000-$150,000+ range.

With a strong presence in the industry and a commitment to innovation and service, they are looking to add a Controls Salesperson to their team. This role would have a focus in the lower mainland, to grow into a role with regional responsibilities across BC.
Position Overview
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a sales background in controls and building automation systems. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of HVAC system design and controls, ideally with experience in both service and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture relationships with key industry professionals—engineers, architects, contractors, developers, and building owners—to expand business and meet strategic goals
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts and source net new business.
- Understand customer requirements, to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Recommend retrofit solutions and product alternatives to address specific client needs, including system startups and modifications
- Contribute to the rollout of new products and services within the market
- Offer guidance to contractors and assist in preparing project quotes
- Stay informed on industry regulations, codes, and market developments to ensure compliance and identify growth opportunities
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to personal and professional development
- Engage in self-learning and participate in factory visits or manufacturer training to stay current on new products and software tools
- Participate in team meetings and relevant industry events (e.g., SMACNA, MCA, VRCA)
Required Skills & Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and operations

Degree or diploma in a technical discipline preferred

Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in HVAC or Building Automation

Ability to interpret mechanical and technical drawings

Strong communication abilities—verbal, written, and presentation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Capable of working independently under pressure
