Position Overview

A leading energy organization specializing in alternative fuels is seeking a Service Technician I to help operate, maintain, and repair compressed and renewable natural gas fueling stations in and around Bordentown, New Jersey. This field-based role offers hands-on technical responsibility for ensuring reliable, safe operation of advanced fueling equipment and infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced maintenance on natural gas fueling systems and related electrical/mechanical equipment, including compressors, motors, dryers, valves, and dispensers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in CNG/RNG fueling systems and infrastructure, performing diagnostics on both electrical and mechanical components.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and safety checks to uphold regulatory compliance and company standards.
  • Document service activities, diagnostics, and repairs using mobile and digital reporting tools.
  • Maintain site cleanliness, follow established safety protocols, and support environmental best practices.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed and provide rotating on-call support outside standard business hours.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and customers, delivering clear service updates and recommendations.
  • Travel between fueling sites as required within the assigned geographic territory.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in technical maintenance, field service, mechanical, electrical, or HVAC work.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, digital service tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic understanding of natural gas fueling systems and safety guidelines is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment per safety requirements.
  • Professional communication skills and ability to present information in customer and team settings.
  • Demonstrated reliability, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call schedules and work overtime if needed.
