Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality food products, is under rapid growth and seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in their new facility in Mississauga. This is an exciting time to join an established company through a period of change and growth.
About the role:
This role will report into the Plant Controller and play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations. Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
- Leading accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, vendor payments, and expense processing.
- Managing the company’s receivables aging
- Delivering assigned month-end and year-end close responsibilities (journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, amortization entries, etc. )
- Completing credit applications for new suppliers
- Assisting with the preparation of payroll entries and reconciliations.
- Assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of cash flow
- Contributing to the implementation of a new ERP system
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (or near completion).
- 2+ years full cycle accounting experience
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel) and previous ERP experience is required
- Manufacturing industry experience a definite asset
- Exceptional English communication – written and oral
