About the Role

Our client is seeking a Technical Project Lead registered,with 10+ years of experience working within architecture firms and strong technical expertise across all phases of project delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial and industrial architecture, along with experience coordinating technically complex projects. Exposure to public sector work is considered an asset.

This role is heavily focused on technical leadership, project coordination, consultant management, and ensuring the successful execution of projects from design development through construction completion. You will work closely with internal project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure high quality documentation, strong coordination, and efficient project delivery.

The successful candidate will be highly detail oriented, technically strong, collaborative, and comfortable leading project teams while mentoring intermediate staff and technologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical project delivery through design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases
  • Oversee project coordination between architectural teams and external consultants including structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines
  • Review drawing packages and technical documentation for quality, coordination, constructability, and compliance
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technologists, interns, and intermediate staff
  • Coordinate BIM workflows and support project delivery standards across teams
  • Work closely with project managers and senior leadership to maintain schedules, deliverables, and project alignment
  • Support construction phase services including RFIs, site instructions, submittal reviews, shop drawing reviews, and site reviews
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical and construction related issues
  • Assist in developing and maintaining technical standards, documentation processes, and quality assurance procedures
  • Collaborate closely with remote project teams across Canada to support successful project delivery
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution

Qualifications

  • Architectural Technology diploma or degree from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of professional experience within architecture firms
  • Strong technical experience across all project phases with a focus on documentation and construction delivery
  • Demonstrated project experience in commercial and industrial architecture
  • Experience working on public sector projects is considered an asset
  • Strong consultant coordination and technical detailing experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM based workflows
  • Excellent understanding of building systems, construction detailing, and constructability
    Strong knowledge of BC Building Code and local municipal approval processes
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with remote project teams
  • Experience mentoring and guiding intermediate technologists and production staff
  • Interest in contributing to the continued growth of the firm’s Western Canadian presence
