Compensation: $120,000-$170,000 (based on experience)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is a well-established organization in the heavy civil and infrastructure construction sector, currently seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities for a major, high-value infrastructure project.

This is an opportunity for a procurement professional who understands the pace and complexity of large-scale construction and wants to play a meaningful role in shaping sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, commercial outcomes, and project delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Lead procurement planning and develop sourcing strategies aligned with project schedules, budgets, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop supplier engagement and procurement plans for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and commercial efficiencies.
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, availability, and supply chain risks.
  • Work with project leadership to forecast procurement requirements and proactively address potential constraints.

Sourcing & Commercial Management

  • Lead the full procurement cycle, including RFQs, RFPs, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations, and awards.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and service agreements with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with contractual requirements, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead corrective actions when required.

Project Delivery & Operations

  • Partner with project teams to coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Monitor procurement schedules and proactively resolve issues that could affect project milestones.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, records, reporting, and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with finance on budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and invoice approvals.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, including experience in a leadership/management capacity.
  • SCMP, CPSM, or equivalent professional certification is an asset.
  • Experience managing procurement for construction, heavy civil, infrastructure, or major capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, supplier management, tendering, contract negotiation, and commercial practices.
  • Experience working closely with project management, finance, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to identify cost, schedule, and supply chain risks.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
